TJ Smith Stakes

Black Caviar's win in the TJ Smith Stakes was a highlight of Australian Derby Day at Randwick

Australian Derby Day 2011 was certainly a massive success at Randwick Racecourse today with some amazing runs entertaining a crowd in excess of 25,000 people.

The horse they all came to see Black Caviar certainly didn’t disappoint with a blistering performance claiming the TJ Smith Stakes and extending that record winning streak to 12 in a row ahead of a gallant Hay List.

From here it looks like it will be Brisbane’s turn next with the super mare destined for the BTC Cup during the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival.

In the other races today though Helmet won the AJC Sires Produce Stakes after coming from the middle of the field to put a length on them in the final 100m.

In the AJC Australian Derby it was Shamrocker which took the prize in a scintillating run giving a filly a victory in the event for the first time in 22 years.

The upset of the day though has to go to My Kingdom Of Fife which stunned everyone in attendance with a win in the Doncaster Prelude paying as much as $181 depending which bookmaker you choose.

Overall tt was a great event and has kept things running smoothly leading into the Sydney Cup and the end of the Sydney Autumn Carnival.

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know
a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something.

I think that you can do with some pics to drive the message home
a bit, but other than that, this is fantastic blog.

A fantastic read. I will definitely be back.
